Taking Lorena's confusion, shock, and glee over the many things she has experienced at Danish weddings, we figured it was a good idea to prepare those of you who are in the same shoes. Dinner
The dinner and its traditions is probably the part of the wedding that is most different in Spanish eyes. You thought the dinner was simply about... eating your dinner? Absolutely not. Here you can read what to expect will happen while you try to savour your meal. Note that Danish traditions are not just rules that one must observe — some are interactive, where the guests play a key role, while others give them power over the couple.

Kissing the bride or groom
During dinner, the bride and groom are seated together. If one of them slips away to the bathroom, it is the window for the opposite sex to hurry up and give the remaining party a kiss on the cheek — if the groom leaves, all the women kiss the bride; if the bride leaves, all the men kiss the groom.
On-demand kisses
At the whim of the guests, when they tap their glasses or plates with their cutlery, the bride and groom have to stand up on their chairs and kiss. When guests stamp their feet, the couple must duck under the table and kiss there instead. This can happen at any point during dinner, as many times in a row as the guests see fit.
